well well well. due to the overwhelming amount of emails we get on a daily basis asking about what is going on with the bricks - these emails just inflate our already oversized egos!...keep um coming - here is what has been going on straight from the head of "BHQ" (Bronx headquarters for those of you without military jargon expertise) first off, may 25th marks the date that the drips are heading into a studio in eagle rock to record their forthcoming full length. sessions will include the tracking of 12 songs, all live, recorded strictly on tape, no digital product use of any sort...and should be available, well, who knows. soon. june 1st marks the date that the bronx will head into a studio in venice and begin tracking 12 or so tunes (out of the 30 that have been written) with matt and joby's fathers at the knobs, swapping stories about 'nam. again, strictly all analog, and again, nothing digital about this bad boy. in the past 4 months we have learned and mastered the art of both kinds of music, country and western, and both styles are shaping up nicely! should be released, well, who knows that either. there is no touring planned as of yet, we will not be playing any hippy summertime festivals this year, but the music will flow. there will be a slew of 7-inches released on white drugs in the months to come that are all shaping up to be quite exciting and quite visually stimulating, more info on that as they begin to surface. thats it for now, I am going to go make some toast. - still wet The Guvn'r

The Bronx have been cast to play black flag in the upcoming film “What We Do Is Secret a film about Darby Crash and the Germs. We recorded “Police Story last Saturday night at Radio Recorders in LA with Pat Smear. Kira from Black Flag stepped in on bass and told us how it was supposed to be done. Other acts include the Mae Shi as the Screamers, and the Germs as the Germs. Should be available on a soundtrack, somewhere, sometime.

The Bronx have wrapped up recording on their Island Records debut and followup to their self titled debut LP. The band yesterday began their tour with High On Fire, Buried Inside and Big Business and on the tour, they plan to debut the first two issues of their magazine, Social Club. The band explained the project: Social Club started right about the time we figured out that making big long expensive records for big time labels isn't as much fun as it might seem; not really the good time, easy-does-it roll in the hay its cracked up to be. So, we decided to start making our own records again. Literally. By making - we mean make - record, mix, press and print them ourselves. We dont even play on half of them because were that good - we get other people to do stuff for us. This is an experiment of sorts, what other people sound like playing and/or singing our songs in an environment that has no expectations. no bar to meet, no fuckheads to answer to, just a bunch of people that like to make music and... well, make music the old fashioned way. Together. All ideas are explored and listened to, all songs are recorded to the satisfaction of the guest, all songs are collaborations. there are no swinging dicks of ego, there is no second guessing, there is no contemplation just pure unbridled creativity Each issue will be limited to 250 copies, and released as 7-inch's only. The project has a number of participants lined up for what they hope will be a monthly series, including Queens (the band lists them as 'Kings') of the Stone Age, Los Lobos, ST, the Distillers, the Icarus Line, 400 Blows and Louis XIV. The first track from that magazine can be streamed from the band's myspace page and features Keith Morris (Black Flag, Circle Jerks) Island has set a "Summer 2006" release for the full length.

In related news, the album has been delayed from the popular June 6th, 2006 date and will instead street on July 18th. The first single from the album is expected on June 6th. The band laughed off the delay: we recently found out that Slayer has a record coming out that day, and they're way cooler than us. So they kinda win. We don't think we're that cool anymore
